What is the Clean Sweep of the Great Miami?

TheClean Sweep is a volunteer event focused on removing trash and restoring the health of the Great Miami River. This cleanup is an annual event coordinated by many partners and held in November in the lower region of the river and in July in the upper reaches.

Why is it Important?

This river cleanup p is about much more than picking up trash. It’s a day for communities to demonstrate their desire for clean water and healthy rivers. It’s an opportunity to learn about our river, and it’s a time to come together with your families, your neighbors, your community, and your friends to accomplish something vital and worthy on behalf of our Great Miami River.

How can you participate?

Participation is easy! Select a location near you to find out more site specific info including times, exact location, and contact person..

It is recommended for groups to pre-register to make sure we have enough t-shirts and scout patches. A volunteer waiver must be signed by all participants (by parents/guardians for minors). This can either be signed at the event, or you can print them and bring them with you to the event. In addition, children under 14 years of age cannot be left unsepervised.

If you don’t see a cleanup near you and want to get one started, call Lynn White at (513) 887-3720 for assistance.
